Aramex has announced the appointment of Thomas Kipp as its new chief operating officer.
Kipp will reportedly bring with him over 25 years experience across logistics, e-commerce and management consulting in Europe, Asia and North America.
Aramex said Kipp will join the senior leadership team with the responsibilities of “overseeing” the global operations, business development, improving operational efficiencies, and “championing crucial process improvements” that fall in line with the firm’s long-term growth strategy.
Kipp previously worked with Deutsche Post DHL Group for 15 years, where most recently, he served as the executive VP for corporate incubations. In addition, he also held the CEO positions across the company’s e-commerce and global mail divisions.
Bashar Obeid, CEO of Aramex, said: “I am pleased to welcome Thomas to our leadership team. I strongly believe that his wealth of experience and proven track record of entrepreneurial leadership, commercial acumen, and unparalleled client management will be instrumental in successfully executing our strategic vision.
He added: “Thomas complements our strong people and performance-driven culture and will build on our continued success, driving Aramex’s position as a leading industry player in its core markets.”
“Over the course of the year, Aramex has experienced a surge in e-commerce activities resulting from increased online shopping during COVID-19 related lockdowns.”
