Firethorn Trust, a real estate investor and developer, has acquired a 42.5-acre site at Cheshire’s Ellesmere Port development.
The site, which includes 750,000 sq ft of logistics and warehousing space, was bought from the port operator, Peel Ports.
Situated at junction seven of the M53, the development also features a direct rail link and a direct operational berth from the Manchester shipping canal.
Peter Mather, partner at Firethorn, said: “The opportunity to purchase a substantial freehold, multi-modal site in a recognised business and industrial location in the North West of England is a fantastic addition to our rapidly growing logistics portfolio.”
Located 22 miles from the Port of Liverpool, the scheme as Ellesmere Port is expected to “drive investment” into the region.
Mather added: “We plan to develop a highly-sustainable scheme with modern facilities and amenities that will benefit both occupiers and their employees, and continue to drive investment into the local area.”
