Gasrec, a fuel provider, has appointed two new account directors to manage the company’s transition to cleaner fuels.
Mark Gilks and Matt Hunt will take responsibility for the North and the South, Midlands, and Wales respectively.
The company is on course to record a three-fold increase in demand for bio-CNG and bio-LNG by the end of 2020.
Gilks, who has most recently worked as national accounts manager for Calor, said he hopes to expand the already growing demand for renewable fuels.
He said: “Demand for renewables is really taking off. What was initially a handful of early-adopters taking one or two trucks has become blue-chip firms and hauliers of all sizes placing sizeable orders.
“My brief from the outset is very clear; Gasrec has a strategic plan to develop its business in the North and Scotland, and I’m hugely excited to play my part in achieving this. Together, we have a vision for providing full UK-wide refuelling coverage to support the Government’s Road-to-Zero strategy.”
Meanwhile, Hunt joined Gasrec in 2014 and has been responsible for driving new business around the firm’s existing refuelling infrastructure.
He added that “this is arguably the most exciting period” for renewables, with the possibility to reach new levels of “efficiency and sustainability”.
