Stobart Group has announced its intention to change its company name to Esken Limited, following from the news made 21 May 2020 that Stobart Group had sold the Eddie Stobart and Stobart trademarks to Eddie Stobart Logistics for £10m
As a result of the transaction, Stobart Group reportedly agreed it would change its name before the end of February 2021.
The group’s operating divisions will be allowed to continue using the brand name until May 2023 adding that London Southend Airport will not change its name.
In order to obtain the required shareholder approval for this change, the group said it will be holding a general meeting on 3 February 2021.
Due to Covid-19, shareholders will not be able to attend in person but can attend electronically, with the company encouraging its holders to exercise their right to vote is strongly recommended that shareholders vote by way of proxy.
If approved, the change of name will be effective once Guernsey Companies House has issued a certificate of incorporation on change of name, which is expected to be issued on the same date as the general meeting, 3 February 2021.
The change of name will reportedly not affect any rights of shareholders, the company’s website will officially change to www.esken.com on 4 February 2021.
