A national haulage company, Slam Transport, has launched a new base in Yorkshire.
The 6.5-acre site was bought from the commercial trailer manufacturer Montracon, with 100 new trailers included in the deal. Slam Transport now operates over 450 tractor units and 800 trailers across Europe.
The new site includes an 18,000 sq ft industrial unit, a five-tonne crane, ten shutter doors, and an office space.
Paul Mack, director of Gent Visick, who acted on behalf of Montracon, said: “Industrial sites such as this rarely come available in and around the York area.
“The property is perfectly placed to service both the North and East Yorkshire markets and we are delighted to have secured a very positive result for our client.”
The site is “ideally located” between Hull and the A1, providing access to Yorkshire and overseas locations.
Harinder Kohli, director of Slam Transport, added: “Crucially, this site, as well as our new Darlington base, now gives us a strong foothold in the haulage market in the North of England and comes at an exciting time as we prepare to further expand our fleet with 100 new trailers from Montracon.”
