Plans for the construction of Farington Park, a logistics and industrial hub in Lancashire, have been approved by the South Ribble Borough Council planning committee.
The 40-acre site, which is being brought forward by Caddick Developments, comprises 612,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics space.
The scheme is set to create 280 jobs during its construction, with a further 1,000 full-time jobs becoming available upon completion.
Some £66.6m of economic output is set to be generated annually by the development, which will also provide an extra 460 job opportunities throughout the supply chain.
Caddick Developments said it is “confident” that the development will provide a “significant economic boost” to the surrounding area.
Moreover, it added that the scheme will support the local community by “sustaining green space and improving local footpaths and cycleways throughout”.
The scheme has been designed by KPP, with the planning consultant for the project named as NJL Consulting.
